Made at Home! Teeth Whitening Has Never Been Easier

Oral and dental health is an area most people overlook. Many patients barely take time to visit a dentist just to check their teeth and make sure there is no pending danger. Contrary to what you may think, however, your teeth are as delicate as any other body part. They require lots of care, and you may be disappointed to learn that some of the simple things you do can have a detrimental effect on your teeth. For instance, your favourite coffee brand might be gradually wearing down the sparkling white shade on your teeth. A whitening system will help you restore the natural colour of your teeth. Here are some of the whitening alternatives you can use at home:

Whitening Trays

Whitening trays are made dentists. They are available either in standard dimensions with a one-size-fits-all structure or as custom whitening trays made specifically for your mouth. Even though your dentist makes the kit for you, the process of whitening takes place over time and in the comfort of your home. All you have to do is wear the trays over your teeth for a fortnight or particular period specified by your dentist.

Custom trays are ideal because they are made to fit your teeth perfectly. Standard trays may be cheaper, but they may not fit well, allowing the bleaching gel to trickle down to the gums. This causes lots of discomfort.

Whitening Pens

Whitening pens are another option you should consider when looking for teeth whitening alternatives. These are thin tubes with a handle on one end a brush on another end. The tubes are filled with tooth bleaching gel that gets rid of tough stains from the enamel. All you need to do is to apply the gel on your teeth using the brush on one end. Make sure that you distribute the gel evenly on all ends of the teeth or tooth.

Whitening pens are very portable. They are handy for anyone that needs to apply the gel several times a day.

Whitening Toothpaste

You can also deal with discoloured teeth using whitening toothpaste. It works like ordinary toothpaste, allowing you to get rid of stains through your regular brushing routine. Whitening toothpaste is ideal for removing discolouration caused by red wine, coffee, tea, curry and other food with strong colour pigments.

Overall, consider talking to your dentist to learn more about your tooth whitening options. Good luck getting your beautiful smile back!
